My Integral Life

It is important for health and wellness professionals to develop psychologically, spiritually and physically because with all these the body is able flourishing and in complete health. I would say that the areas that need to work on to achieve my goals would be psychologically and spiritually. I am physically achieve almost every day and have a both healthy weight and body mass. In my spiritual life I need to find more quiet time to pull together the natural flow of the soul and center myself. I would like to develop calming my mind and being able to filter my thoughts without thought.
The way I assessed my health in each domain was different for each of them. My physical ability is tested through fitness test, body mass, fat percentage, and weight. This way I was able to see if my physical ability matched my body mass. In the psychological practice of quieting the mind was the test I used to assess my level. If I was unable to keep my thoughts from being cluttered I knew that I had not reach my full potential. In my spiritual life I can notice and use as an assessment the uneasiness I feel and how quick I loose my temper.
The goals I have for myself in all the areas are different for each one. The goal I would set for myself for physical would be the ability to complete my triathlons faster than the time before. I know that is broad goal but improving at all is good for me at this point. My psychological goal would be to take time to implement programs that help develop thought process. The spiritual aspect of my life would be to mediate each morning before I start my day.
The practices that I would implement to help foster growth would be the loving kindness for my spiritual growth. This would help me in the mornings start my day thinking of other and start my soul in a happy direction of love. Exercise that I could do would be prayer and meditation. I would use the calming mind for psychological to help my mind filter through thoughts at the end of the day and become clear again. I would like to do memory games and mediation.  As for physical I would use my exercise program to better my ability as a triathlete and progression. Exercise that would be for physical growth would be yoga and running for me.
It is important to be able to assess the progress of the programs and goals. The way I could assess my own growth would be to take the fitness test, psychological test, and mediation test over in six months. The relationships that I have should improve over six months as well and that can be a long term affect of progression. The best way to maintaining this type of health and wellness long-term would be live it daily and let it be a part of every day life.

Mental Health Every Day

Hello Everyone,

Each I start with a mediation of love kindness. At night I like to practice subtle mind to help clear my head from the busy day and focus on thoughts. The morning mediation helps prepare my mental state to be calm and embrace the daily challenges I might face. Endning the day with subtle mind helps me sort through problems I might be facing and find the best solution. It actually helps me sleep better because I am not up all night trying to figure things out. I am able to short through things a lot more easy.

Rest and Ease your Mind.

Walk the Walk

Hello Everyone,

This week has been a great week of mediation and inner calmness. How did I do this? Well, after practicing each day to calm my mind through mediation on spiritual health and healing I was able to find balance in thought and spirit. It seemed to come easily. I was able to react to situations with less stress, temper, and impulsive. It was seemed that my reactions were calm and clear. I think my kinds have noticed :)

I think that as a professional it is important to practice what you preach. I know that even though doctors will recommend or perform surgeries that they themselves have never gone through but in most professions it is important apply what you suggest to other in your own life. It is also beneficial to develop the physical, mental, and spiritual health not only for you but the clients because there are benefits in the professional world that can be effect.

Look forward to the next challenge in human flourishing.

KEEP CALM
and have
Human Flourishing

Hello Everyone!

This has been an interesting week and busy one for my family. It is always nice to have an excuse to find quiet time to myself for "school work"/ meditation exercise. After completing the integral assessment in Chapter 11 of Integral Health by Dacher I realized that I do this type of assessment with myself more often than I thought. I also did not realize that it was something that had been studied or had a name to it. I thought it was just a part of me finding out more about myself. I guess in the search of finding "my true self." It seems that each time I go through this type of assessment it changes on what type of aspect I want to improve or work on. It changes with life and as I grow to learn more about myself. I think right now I would like to development my patients and loving kindness within my family. This in so many ways would bring peace during our transition to Japan in a month. It is not easy to move to another country with the whole family but I like to see it as an adventure.

Subtle Mind Exercise

Finding out more about the mind and how thoughts are continuously traveling through the brain is truly amazing. The human race has knowledge about so many things in the world and beyond it's own atmosphere there can be something said about not truly knowing how the human brain works or process thoughts.

In the Loving Kindness exercise it helped me go beyond myself and my momentarily feelings about someone or something to bring depth into my thoughts. It helped over come sporadic behavior that was a reaction of my lack of thoughtfulness. In the Subtle Mind Exercise I was able to relax to mind of clutter or empty thoughts that were crowding the mind to think and observe thoughts and feelings. It was during this exercise that I was able to see thought come and go without the constant barging of thoughts interrupting.

The important of being able to quiet the mind is a grate way to spiritual, mental, and physical wellness. Being able to observe thoughts and feelings without extra chatter will help see the situation clearly and therefore resolving in a way that is not impulsive or heat of the moment. This will release the conscience from guilt of mistakes which will allow the spirit to remain at peace. In my life it is important to be of sound mind, body, and spirit so that I may function to my full potential and help others to do the same.

Love Kindness Practice

It is true when they say "Practice makes Perfect" but in some cases it takes a lot of practice. Taking care of others can sometimes be a challenge with the daily stress. But when allowing time to focus on the love you have for them people that are close to you it makes the caring for them come a little easier without as much struggle or resists. I notice that when focused on how much I loved my family here the easier it was care and love for them more. I found that my mind was more at peace I was able to react to my normal task with ease and less tense. My children to respond better to me as well. I think that is an over all benefit to my integral health and mental workout can help strengthen the ability to relax and find ease.
